RFE International, a leading global sports and fitness equipment company for some of the most recognised brands including Reebok and adidas, has boosted its global commercial business through the appointment of industry heavyweight Fergus Ahern as Group Sales Director (Commercial).
Fergus Ahern joins the company with 25 years’ experience in the fitness industry, enjoying a number of high profile positions spanning both health club operations and suppliers. These include a three year term as a board director at the FIA, now UK Active, Sales and Marketing Director at StarTrac UK and more recently heading up FitPro in Europe, the world’s largest membership of fitness professionals holding 150,000 members across 82 countries. Fergus joins from Dynamax Inc. where he will still maintain a position on their board.
Commenting on his recent appointment, Fergus said: “I am absolutely delighted to be part of the RFE team. Having worked with them while at Dynamax, it is clear to see the passion for fitness the company possesses. I am very proud to be taking the lead on the extension of the Reebok commercial fitness category into the global health and fitness market. I’m looking forward to introducing RFE to new UK, US and International partners as well as developing a clear strategy for our existing customers at this very important time in RFE’s development.”
Fergus will take the lead on the commercial sales business development, utilising his vast experience of working with some of the worlds largest health clubs and chains. He will also have a large focus on the North American market, targeting key partnerships and driving sales and market share. Furthermore, Fergus will be providing direction and support to the International sales network of distributors and RFE partners.
